Ok nerds, I know somebody knows how to do this, but it's not me, yet. I bought a 128 GB USB drive with my crappy new laptop. I want to use that like a Linux live CD to run an image of windows 10 with the apps and documents that I need to have on it, so in the unlikely event that something like this happens again, I can take the USB (or even a micro SD in a slim adapter) out of my pocket and boot any computer into 'my' system and drive on. Thoughts?
